Definition

A colloquial term which is used in polyamorous communities to describe the interconnection of the various partners within a person’s polyamorous network.

An intimate network is made up of a person’s partners, the other members of their partner’s relationships, the partners of the other members of their partner’s relationships, the partners of the partners of the other members of their partner’s relationships and so on and so forth.

The term is typically used to describe the variety of friendships and connections found within an open polyamorous relationship dynamic.

Example

Barry and Claudia are close friends because they’re in the same intimate network, they have been able to spend a lot of time together. Barry is a member of one of Claudia’s partner’s other relationships.
