Solopoly

Pronunciation:

[ˈsōlōˈpälē]

Definition

Solopoly, or solo polyamory, is a term which describes the type of polyamorous person who may or may not have experience in polyamorous relationships but wants to play the ‘free agent’ role. Meaning he/she wants minimal commitment, no-strings-attached relationships.

A solopoly person will often be involved in multiple polyamorous partnerships and have a tendency to jump from partnership to partnership.

Example

Simon was a polyamorous floater of sorts; he wandered from polyamorous relationship to polyamorous relationship. Someone in one of his newer poly relationships asked: “Why do you have so many relationships at once, Simon?” He replied, “I’m solopoly, I enjoy polyamory but don’t like commitment.”
