Vee

Pronunciation:

[vē]

Definition

A colloquial term for a polyamorous relationship involving three people. The way a Vee works is that one person is sexually and romantically involved with the other two partners, but they are not sexually and romantically involved with one another.

A Vee can be open, meaning that each partner is able to see people outside of the Vee, or closed, meaning that all partners are committed to the relationship and do not see people external of the Vee.

Successful Vee’s often rely on the two partners, who are not sexually or romantically involved, having a good relationship, which helps to prevent jealousy and ensures that all parties are comfortable with one another.

Example

Lucy has been at the center of a MFM closed Vee for about 4 years now. Both of her partners get along really well and they alternate nights sleeping in the master bedroom with her.
